Hello Ladies and Gents!
Don’t worry. This post won’t just be about how it’s good to clean your room. It’s just that it did help to motivate me to get things done today even though it is kind of late for me to start going through my list. I have a couple of exams next week so I started studying on Monday (by studying I mean learning the material). I’m getting off on a better say than on my last exams though!
I’ve been feeling more energized this week compared to the last. Maybe because I finally went grocery shopping and was able to buy more whole foods such as vegetables. Lately, I’ve been trying to eat Subway to get more carbs but, Subway just makes me tired. It may be too many carbs at once or I just don’t do well on bread. I think its the latter because I can eat a whole lot of rice and not get sleepy. I think I’m going to lay off the bread again. I don’t really care for it but it was just an easy way to get fiber since it is usually really hard for me to get enough fiber. I solved that problem by eating a lot more fruits and Veggies. I know you are probably saying, “well duh!” But it’s just really hard to be able to grocery shop and be able to afford and fit all the fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables in a small dormitory fridge. Sometimes my pay is not all that great and I need to pay credit card bills or some crazy emergency happens just as I get my paycheck (I feel like it’s always the last one). I have a meal plan type thing on financial aid but, the healthy meals are always the most expensive (and people wonder why the US has such high obesity rates but, I refuse to let myself get to that level). Even if you can get a “healthy” fast food, it is sometimes too calorie dense. But, enough of that, the main point was that veggies are awesome.
On the other side of the health spectrum, I’ve been seeing great results. I don’t even have to flex to see some of my arm muscles now. Yeah! The same thing can be said for my calves. My quads, glutes, and abdominals, on the other hand, are some tough cookies but, that is to be expected. That’s usually where I gain the weight first and lose it last but, I do see progress so, I will not give up. I’m lifting and squatting my way to my goals 1 rep at a time.
Thanks for listening to my rant,
